The Claddagh House story

My husband and I are the proud owners of this homely, purpose-built B&B where we pride ourselves in offering all of our guests a service second to none.

Having searched for months for the place we felt could be our home – and a home away from home to everyone who walked through the doors – we finally came upon the charming Claddagh House and immediately knew that this was the one!

The house was built in 1993 by the previous owners who ran a very successful business here for many years.

Welcome to Claddagh House B&B

Though it was not currently trading as a B&B, as soon as we saw the house we knew it could be an amazing location to offer our guests the type of service we love to receive when we are away for business or pleasure.

We quickly put in a bid to purchase the property and moved in on July 1st 2017 – when the dream of running a successful bed and breakfast business began.

We completely renovated Claddagh House, preparing it to receive and entertain guests once again.

The B&B is now very welcoming with its light and airy decor, comfortable bedrooms and a lounge where guests can sit and relax alone, meet up with each other for a chat, or make new friends in the evenings.

We are proud to say that we completed the renovations to a very high standard with beautiful wooden floors throughout the house, every bedroom has new semi-orthopaedic beds with luxurious bed linen from the world famous nearby Foxford Woollen Mills and furnishings, the newly-tiled modern bathrooms have top-quality fittings and towels to make our guests as comfortable as possible.

As the ‘Lady Of The House’, I took part in an intensive cookery course with Ballymaloe-trained chef Marion Frawley to bring you the best breakfast to start your day.

Having travelled extensively around the world ourselves, we know what we like and what we hope to experience when we book a hotel or guesthouse.

We all expect the best – whether we are staying for business or for pleasure – and why not when we are paying for it?

With this in mind, our philosophy at Claddagh House is to offer a bed-and-breakfast service with a genuine smile and we are only too eager to go that extra mile to ensure that our guests go home happy and relaxed with a desire to come back and stay again.

So, if you are coming to us to celebrate a birthday or an anniversary; or if you are a bride or groom-to-be; or if you just want a romantic break for no other reason than love – then we would love you to tell us in advance as all of our guests’ special occasions are treated as such and surprises will await you once you let us know at the time of booking.

We thank you for choosing to visit us and we look forward to welcoming you to the lovely Claddagh House and to making your stay one to remember.

Your hosts,
Gourlay and Louise
